We are looking to build an online survey form for a user study that either (1) automatically let's the user initiate a screen recording or (2) embeds hotjar to record the screen. Various search engines should be included in an iframe on the online survey form and varied between participants who access the form. This form itself will be embedded inside Amazon Mechanical Turk for turkers to complete our online survey. We will also need your help for embedding the form inside AMT. If we go with option #1 then you will need to figure out whether loom or its competitors provide an easy to use widget that initiates the recording. If you go with option #2, which is likely more seamless for the end user, then you will need to reference Hotjar's documentation around enabling iframe viewing. Note Hotjar does not let us see JS execution inside the iframe, but if we enable the iframe viewing in hotjar, at least we can see what the users' page overall looks like and most importantly what search engine they are using when they are completing certain trivia activities within our survey (FYI we are trying to track whether they stick to an alternative search engine or default back to google in our research). Your job overall as a developer is to make the form filling process and screen recording process as seamless as possible for the end user so that we can focus on their natural behavior of which search engine they prefer using to complete a challenge. If you have opinions about #1 vs #2 vs what is possible to make this experience as seamless as possible, then you should let us know when you draft a detailed estimate for this project in the interview chat.
