How can I maximize my likelihood of performing well and getting long-lasting and interesting work?
We have had success with clients who were able to see some code or mockups within the first 5 hours. Therefore, it is important to demonstrate to the client something tangible that can be reviewed in the first 5 hours. Providing an update to the client after every 2 hours of work or so is also important. During the first 5 hours of work especially, we recommend you stop working after every 2 hours of tracking time to get feedback from the client to make sure you are on the right track.
We recommend being responsive on Slack and checking in during the designated check in times on weekdays in the project channel. We recommend making accurate time estimates, and communicate frequently with your client regarding your work schedule and deadlines you’ll be able to meet. When you are stuck we recommend asking other talent in Slack in the skill channels. Finally, we recommend accepting opportunities when you have bandwidth.
Finally, when you are not assigned to projects, we recommend choosing and doing your own github + blog passion projects to grow your skills and portfolio.
