  • I take part in designing and developing supply chain systems that help the company improve stock monitoring, logistics, and warehouse operations. It is the only modern warehouse system in Kenya.
  • I work with Python for back-end development, this mainly involves modeling for our Postgresql database and setting up Restful and Graphql APIs to be used by our mobile and web clients.
  • I'm also involved in continuous integration and continuous deployment which is achieved by using Google Cloud, Git, and Docker. We also have Redis on our stack for caching and message queuing.

Food and Agriculture

  • Developed a system that farmers used to manage their activities like stock record keeping, sales, supplies, and field status monitoring. This helped them reduce manual work in their daily activities.
  • The system was also used by cooperative societies to provide services like payments and communication updates with the help of Twilio SMS API.
  • The main web application was built using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and D3 Js. This resulted in a dynamic application that could be used while offline and work perfectly in areas with poor internet.
  • On the back-end we used Python/Django to mainly set up a Restful API. We used both Mysql and Postgresql databases but the latter was preferred because it works best with GIS data.
  • Lastly, we used Git for version control and continuous integration.

  • I was part of the team that developed the only Kenyan recruitment system powered by Google talent solutions API which led to high-accuracy job matching. The system is the first of its kind in Kenya.
  • We used Python/Django web framework because it allowed for fast full-stack web development coupled with a Mysql database.
  • The main product is a dynamic website that we built using HTML, CSS, Javascript, and React on the front-end. The whole system was deployed on AWS.
